Leakage Management

Water should no longer be considered as a “low value” commodity, any less than gas or electricity.

The cost of water and sewerage services has increased significantly over recent years and those organisations that pay little attention to the flow of water through their pipework systems may be paying too high a price for these services.  In many cases the first sign of a problem is when water appears through the ground.

WSM Associates can provide a range of services to assist with the difficult issue of minimising the level of leakage from a water system, including:~

  • Leak detection services, using leading edge technology such as digital leak noise correlation and acoustic logging.
  • Continuous flow measurement – Using a data logger linked to the water meter to record the level of flow 24/7 which in turn monitors changing trends, giving an early warning system in the event of increasing leakage.

-
  • Design and implementation of monitoring systems – installation of sub-meters to help identify areas of problem pipework.
  • Pressure management – installation of PRV’s (Pressure Reducing Valves) to reduce the impact and strain of unnecessary high pressures on pipework and fittings.
  • Water Auditing – looking at the overall water balance to help identify system anomalies.
