WSM Associates Ltd have a fantastic opportunity to add to our expanding team for a Water Hygiene Technician based in Cowes with a salary range of £22K – 30K dependent on qualifications and experience.

With sites in both Southampton and Cowes, a position within WSM Associates Ltd is both varied and rewarding. The role of Water Hygiene Technician is key to our company-wide operations, assisting clients in all aspects of water hygiene, drinking water compliance and upholding our professional reputation.

The Role

Reporting daily to the Operations Manager, you will be assisting with key duties to ensure the delivery of planned work, on a wide variety of water systems. Working alongside skilled and supportive colleagues, you will undergo training both formally and in-house becoming an integral part of “keeping water at its best”.

As a Water Hygiene Technician, you will be assisting with:

Commissioning of newly laid water pipelines
Water quality sampling, including field measurements
Legionella monitoring works
Cleaning and disinfection of reservoirs and contact tanks
As a Water Hygiene Technician, you will have the following expertise and attributes

Essential

Willingness to learn and become part of the WSM team
Ability to communicate clearly at all levels, internally and externally
Must undertake and pass a “fitness for work” assessment in order to carry out site based works
Positive attitude and work ethic
Full driving licence
Good Standard of Maths and English at GCSE Level
Experience with IT systems and use of computers

Desirable

At least two years practical experience in the water hygiene sector or legionella services. However, for a candidate with the right attitude and enthusiasm we would be able to consider you in a trainee role and put you through our training program.
Knowledge of the water or plumbing industry would be advantageous, but not essential.
A national water hygiene EUSR card, DBS check and confined space training are desirable but not essential, training will be given.
Awareness and understanding of the regulatory aspects within the water industry, particularly in relation to water quality.
NVQ or equivalent within plumbing industry and relevant experience.

40 hour work week – Monday to Friday, with the opportunity of overtime when needed.
